Tashigang, the world’s highest polling station, ready to join the road
TashiGang polling station of Mandi parliamentary area will be connected to the road within a couple of days. It is the world’s highest polling center. The Public Works Department is working on road restoration at war footing. TashiGang polling station is located at a height of 15256 feet. There are 49 voters in this polling station. It has 29 men and 20 women. After heavy snowfall in the district Lahaul Spiti, the work of removal of snow from the roads connecting polling stations is on the horizon; polling booths with the main roads from the Lahaul division’s Gispa to Udaipur are now added. Total polling in the district is 92 polling. Booth, and the BRO and Public Works Department are involved in the connectivity.
Sub-election officer Jeevan Negi told that most of Kaza’s polling stations have been linked to the road. He said that the restoration of road to Tashigang polling station has remained only half a kilometer. He told that Tashigang will be connected to the road in a couple of days. He said 27 out of 29 polling stations of Spiti subdivision have been added, efforts are being made to connect the remaining 2 center muds and the world’s highest Tashigang.
