What will be BJP next agenda to win 2019 election?
The year 2014 marked the historic win of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections with a majority. 2015 was seemingly a dull year for the party while on 8th November 2016 demonetization rolled out which has made it a really important year during the reign of BJP. This is the year which has the ability to change a lot of things. Now on 1st July of 2017 GST has been rolled out the effect of which still has to be seen.
Demonetization was a blunder. It has become a subject of mockery for the BJP government. At its very inception, people had a lot of confidence in the policy and believed that it will bring the much-needed change as it will curb the number of black money holders in India while taking out a lot of black money from the system. Although the contrary has happened. In the recent report that was released by the RBI on a petition stated that almost 99% of the money in circulation came back in form of old notes. This shows that almost all the black money has been made white and has been brought back in the system. Narendra Modi in December 2016, when the opposition parties were criticizing the step said that he just wants the citizens to give him two months and he will show the difference to them within that time. It has been nearly a year yet no changes seem to be brought and the government seems to have forgotten about it as no one talks about it.
BJP’s reputation has taken a severe hit.
The image of BJP has taken a severe hit since demonetization has been affected. Although there is still a high number of those who are still blindly supporting the government even when their mistake was quite evident, still some of the intellectual people in the society have started to question the decision-making ability of BJP. The government which enjoyed unprecedented support from the people seems to be losing its ground. It has become important for BJP to reform their image and come out like the heroes in the eyes of the general public before it’s too late. The major agenda as of today to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election is to gain the confidence of the people. If something is not done in this regard it can create a lot of problems for the BJP government. It needs to reform its image. It was evident in the state elections that the beef band and demonetization have hit hard on the government as they lost in Goa to Congress.
Why is it so important for BJP to reform its image and win back the confidence of the people?
Being a democracy, everything is in the hands of the people. This makes it compulsory to have their trust and backing only then one can think of winning the Lok Sabha elections. Around two weeks back a resolution has been passed by the BJP setting out their agenda for the 2019 elections. The resolution has called upon the workers of the party to work hard in order to get back the lost confidence of the people. BJP understands the current scenario and the importance to get back the trust of the people. They are aware that only two years are left for the elections and if the there image remains the same then problems will come on their way as they won’t be able to get the kind of support from the people that they are expecting for the 2019 elections.
