What will be BJP manifesto for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections?
The poll bugle for the 2019 parliamentary elections can be heard throughout the country. With the elections right around the corner, PM Narendra Modi has launched the election campaign on the Independence Day during his speech. Even the Congress party has appointed a manifesto committee in September 2018. Congress may propose no income tax for those under 35 years in its 2019 poll manifesto. There are a lot of speculations going on about what all are we going to see in the ruling party’s manifesto. Here are some key points that we might see or miss on the BJP’s 2019 manifesto.
1. Economic development
While the government will be seen advertising about the promises that have been kept in the past five years, we will see development being made the center pillar of the manifesto. Economic development was a major factor which catapulted Modi government into power back in 2014. Lately, there has been a lot of hue and cry from the opposition regarding the economic policies of the government. The BJP government had to bear the brunt of severe criticism as rupee became the worst performing currency in Asia and petrol prices reached an all-time high. BJP will definitely try to portray itself as a party that is dedicated towards the economic growth of India and restores the faith of the masses through its manifesto.
2. Exclusion of Ram Mandir from the manifesto
Reports hint that unlike the 2014 manifesto, Ram Mandir issue will not make it to the 2019 poll manifesto. Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has recently said in an interview that Hindutva and Ram Mandir won’t be an issue and the government will focus only on development. This goes on to show that BJP will portray itself as a more secular party in its manifesto.
3. Saaf Niyat, sahi Vikas
BJP slogan for the 2019 elections might also find a place in its manifesto. Through this, they will include social welfare and a clean governance as there focus. It is true that there haven’t been any alleged scams that have been highlighted during the tenure of this government. So this point will definitely get positive attention from the masses.
4. Schemes for the minorities
The sector in which Modi government lacks behind is the support of the minorities. This might lead to promises being made through the manifesto to the minorities that their interest will be safeguarded by the Modi government. So a promise to bring new policies and schemes for the minorities might be added.
5. Houses for every Indian by 2022
PM Modi has been seen on multiple occasions of the governments work on giving shelter to every Indian by 2022. Today in India housing is a major problem for the downtrodden sections of the society. This promise has given a lot of hope to many. Adding this to the manifesto might help BJP to get more support from the lower sections.
Soon we will see the actual manifesto and everyone will hope to see the government talk about issues like development and housing in their manifesto rather than playing the Hindutva card all over again.
